Going off the deep end!

Well, I’m at it again folks. Only this time, I will not be playing games for charity. This is going to be a little more physical, and a LOT colder.

I will be participating in the 2012 Pittsburgh Polar Plunge!

What is the Polar Plunge?

-The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, and businesses to support local Special Olympics athletes by jumping or running into icy cold waters. Plunge participants take a quick dip in the river to raise funds for Special Olympics Pennsylvania, the state’s largest year-round organization devoted to sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. This year there are six Plunges statewide to choose from. Join us and be “Freezin’ for a Reason” Take the Plunge!

Jumping into icy cold water really not your thing?

You can still participate and show your support by making a pledge to a braver soul.

That’s Less than a week from now!

(sorry, kind of a spur of the moment thing)

This is first year I will be participating and I am super excited about it. I wanted to kick things off by getting started and making a team.
I of course need donations and volunteers to freeze their posteriors off with me 🙂

To donate, please view my donation page here:

2) click “sponsor a plunger”

3) search “shawn gorey”

To join my team, and go for a dip, go here:

Every dollar helps. Please don’t make me do all this for nothing.
