Portrait Drawing: My Opa

What is going on Ladies and Gentlemen?

In German, grandpa translates to “Opa,” and I lost mine this week. His name was Robert and I carry it as my middle name. We miss him already.

This portrait took just shy of two and a half hours to complete from start to finish, not including breaks. It got off to a solid start while I was still sketching out the rough details. This foundation made it nice to move forward on. It started cartoon-like, but ended more photo-realistic. I couldn’t be happier with the results. This is probably my best portrait drawing to date.
